For over 25 years, DrTung’s® has been dedicated to offering innovative, natural oral care products. They pioneered the first commercially available tongue cleaner in the US, long before it became mainstream. Drawing inspiration from nature and ancient wisdom, DrTung’s develops effective oral care solutions that are essential for health, beauty, and overall well-being.

DrTung’s approached The Branded Agency as an established company that was trying to break further into the Ecommerce space, but hadn't seen successful growth in this area.

01. Our Insight

Heritage doesn't automatically translate to digital success. Through comprehensive auditing—benchmarking, positioning analysis, and performance gaps—we discovered DrTung's was competing on features everyone claimed, not the advantage only they owned: clinically proven efficacy backed by 25 years of innovation.

We architected a dual-market strategy that leveraged their professional credibility to drive consumer confidence. First, we amplified their DDS relationships, creating dedicated B2B experiences, professional-grade content, and streamlined ordering that turned dentists into brand ambassadors. Then, we translated that professional validation into consumer trust signals across every digital touchpoint.

The repositioning was surgical: "Natural" became "Clinically proven natural." "Oral care" became "Dentist-trusted solutions." Generic benefits became professional endorsements.

But strategy without infrastructure fails. We rebuilt their entire digital ecosystem: Shopify migration, conversion-optimized user journeys, retention marketing, and performance systems designed to scale. The result: doubled revenue in year one.

02. Brand Transformation

DrTung had entered the e-commerce market but struggled to grow its dentist and customer revenue due to messaging that failed to resonate with these targets.

We aimed to grow their e-commerce business by increasing repeat purchases and building long-lasting relationships with loyal customers. To make this happen, we did a competitive analysis and market position research to freshen and re-position DrTung’s online messaging to resonate with their two key markets: dentists and consumers.

We identified efficacy as DrTung’s primary USP. Highlighting "efficacy" positioned DrTung as a premium, scientifically backed choice, attracting targets willing to invest in high-quality products that deliver real results. Balancing this with their natural messaging, we aligned the customer’s why, the brand's purpose, and a product market fit to create a strong brand positioning and marketing messaging. 

We have seen success in multiple brands by ensuring they all work together to achieve success. Previously, their messaging focused on points of parity with their competitors, but we moved them to true market differentiation.

With this shift, we were able to see instant results and achieved success with increased sales.

03. Marketing System

To convert brand equity into revenue, we built a fully integrated marketing engine—rooted in strategic clarity and designed for performance across every customer touchpoint.

Retention Marketing

We began with retention marketing, overhauling DrTung’s email ecosystem from the ground up. Every existing flow was audited, rewritten, and restructured to align with the brand’s new positioning. We introduced new high-performing journeys—welcome series, replenishment reminders, educational product flows—each designed to nurture customers over time and increase lifetime value. The result: open rates more than doubled, click rates quadrupled, and email-attributed revenue grew by 337%.

Performance Marketing

Simultaneously, we launched a performance marketing strategy designed to drive new customer acquisition without compromising brand integrity. We didn’t chase clicks—we built a funnel around DrTung’s strongest differentiator: clinically proven efficacy. Paid campaigns were structured around high-intent audiences and tested messaging that emphasized professional trust and natural performance. We implemented creative frameworks optimized for conversion, integrating testimonial-style UGC, benefits-forward ad copy, and clear value props tied to specific product SKUs. This media strategy was further supported by site improvements and CRO insights, contributing to a 2.3X revenue increase and a 99% jump in total orders year-over-year.

Social Media Management

To maintain a consistent brand signal across the customer journey, we took over DrTung’s social media channels and introduced a new content system built on strategic pillars: efficacy, education, and everyday rituals. We transitioned away from product-forward posts and instead built a lifestyle narrative around oral care. Content was designed to support both brand building and conversion—combining dentist-backed insights with visually elevated formats that spoke to both B2B and D2C audiences. We aligned social with key sales moments, launches, and ongoing campaigns to ensure maximum reach and relevance.

Recognizing the growing importance of third-party validation in the natural wellness space, we introduced influencer management as a new growth lever. We built a segmented strategy that targeted both micro wellness creators and dental professionals, driving credibility from both ends of the funnel. From outreach to content briefing and relationship management, we ensured every partner was aligned with the brand’s new positioning and storytelling guidelines. This expanded DrTung’s reach organically and introduced a stream of high-performing UGC that we repurposed across channels for social proof and paid efficiency.

Website Design and Development

Finally, none of this would have scaled without optimizing the foundation. We led a full e-commerce transformation, migrating DrTung’s site to Shopify and rebuilding the customer experience with conversion and usability in mind. We streamlined the product architecture, implemented custom B2B capabilities, and infused the entire site with trust signals—from clinical data to customer reviews and professional endorsements. With this new ecosystem in place, DrTung’s wasn’t just positioned as a natural oral care brand—they became the go-to for dentist-trusted, clinically proven, and customer-loved solutions.
