The children’s personal care market was stuck between two unsatisfying extremes. Conventional kids’ shampoos were packed with harsh chemicals and artificial fragrances. Natural alternatives existed, but they often fell short on performance, leaving parents forced to choose between safe or effective.
Beyond ingredients, there was also a perception gap. Most baby and kids’ haircare packaging leaned heavily into cartoonish cues that spoke down to parents, or generic bottles that failed to inspire trust. Nothing on the shelf looked like it belonged in a professional salon, yet parents wanted products that were not only gentle enough for babies but premium enough to trust.
The opportunity was to create a new category: salon-quality haircare for babies and kids, designed with the same rigor and style as adult products, but with clean, pediatrician-approved ingredients.
We saw an opening to elevate kids’ haircare into something parents would feel proud to use and display — a brand that carried the professionalism of salon products but the warmth and playfulness of childhood.
The solution started with naming. Littl was deliberately short, modern, and adaptable. It signaled the
The identity system extended that duality. Clean typography and minimal packaging design spoke to premium performance, while custom illustrations introduced subtle whimsy — raindrops, clouds, rainbows — that signaled gentleness and joy without feeling juvenile. Soft pastels balanced the sophistication with approachability.
The tagline, “Clean Ingredients, Clean Kiddos,” tied the story together: safe, sustainable, and scientifically proven care that doesn’t compromise on quality.
The result was more than a product line. It was a new standard in children’s haircare. One that parents could trust, professionals could respect, and kids could grow up with.
