Branding
Art & Culture
My Therapist Ghosted Me had already built a loyal following with its irreverent take on mental health, relationships, and modern life. However, the podcast's visual identity wasn't matching the energy and personality that hosts Joanne McNally and Vogue Williams brought to every episode. In an saturated podcast market where comedy and mental health content increasingly overlap, the brand needed to visually communicate its unique position: serious topics handled with humor, vulnerability wrapped in wit. Our goal was to create a visual system that could turn casual listeners into devoted fans who'd proudly wear the merch and share the content.
Embracing the Absurd with Strategic Playfulness
The redesigned logo literally visualizes the podcast's cheeky title - a ghost wearing headphones becomes the perfect metaphor for both the "ghosting" concept and the listening experience. The energetic squiggles radiating from behind create movement and chaos, reflecting the unpredictable nature of the conversations. This bold, punchy visual language extends throughout the brand system with high-contrast colors that can flex from Instagram stories to tour posters. By leaning into the absurdity rather than trying to balance it with conventional "wellness" aesthetics, the rebrand positions MTGM as the anti-self-help podcast - where real talk happens without the pretense. The result is a brand that's instantly recognizable, infinitely memeable, and perfectly captures the show's essence: therapy might ghost you, but these conversations won't.
