Angel Investor

An angel investor is a private individual who invests personal capital into an early-stage business, startup, or entrepreneur-led venture. Angel investors often provide funding when a company is too new to qualify for traditional financing or before it is ready for larger venture capital investment. In exchange, they may receive equity, convertible debt, or another form of ownership or future financial return.

Beyond funding, angel investors can also offer strategic guidance, industry connections, mentorship, and business experience. For startups, this support can help validate an idea, build momentum, strengthen operations, and prepare for future growth. Angel investment is often used to support product development, brand building, marketing, hiring, and other early business activities that help move a company from concept to market.
